1. Re-roofing isn’t cheap — how can we control costs?

We don’t recommend you try to control costs by cutting corners. That will come back to bite you. In the long run, choosing the cheapest route ends up costing you more for repairs and another roof replacement down the road than doing it right the first time. Using high-quality materials installed by a qualified contractor will deliver roofs that perform as they should for as long as they’re supposed to. This is definitely your best return on investment.

To reduce the overall cost of your project, complete the entire job at once. You will benefit from economies of scale. On the other hand, if your budget only allows for phasing out the project, you can choose to defer the cost of the latter phases of the job, possibly over two or three years. But be aware this will increase rather than decrease the total cost. The more you choose to do at one time, the cheaper the total cost will be.

2. How do you minimize noise, mess, and disruption?

Sentry is completely committed to impacting residents’ quality of life as little as possible. We understand your property is your home and having crews and materials present is a distraction.

There’s not a lot we can do about the noise involved in tearing off a roof and installing a new one but we certainly can control how we behave on the job site. We’ll provide an agreed-upon schedule to the entire complex community and reminder flyers to units whose roofs are next in line. Our crews do not yell out to each other while we work — we use cell phones to communicate with other crew members when it’s not possible to talk normally or walk over to them. We don’t play music and we’re respectful of things like where we park our vehicles and eat lunch.

We also clean up the job site all day long. Our goal is to have minimal disruption on your usual routines. That’s also why we work fast!

3. Doesn’t Sentry only work on commercial roofs?

Multi-family roofing is commercial roofing! The total square footage alone makes it so. By choosing a contractor that has as many qualified staff and as much logistical experience as Sentry, you’ll get a smoother, more efficiently managed project right out of the gate. You also get a team that understands how to work together to move through each re-roofing phase — planning, material delivery, tear-off, old materials removal, new material installation, and finishing touches — in an organized, systematic way.

When the project is complete, you’ll be glad to have chosen a contractor with more than 35 years experience working on large projects.
