Growth Sparks Growth: Sentry Roof Welcomes Our New Staff and Opportunities

One of the most interesting things about the way Atlanta-based businesses have been growing lately is how their evolution impacts the companies they partner with. We’ve definitely seen it impact our company.

For decades, Sentry Roof Services has run a successful business by primarily servicing our core accounts. Our goal has always been to provide a high level of customer service and high-value advice — it’s worked well for our clients and for our business. Over the years we’ve grown our reputation and our company by word of mouth.

Over the past five years, however, things have changed.

As Atlanta companies have rebounded from the recession, we’ve seen a lot of consolidation of corporations and their property portfolios. Some of our core clients have been growing through consolidation and by continuing to service these accounts, we’ve been growing alongside them.

In addition, some of our clients’ portfolios now include properties outside metro Atlanta, so we’re being asked to do more work in those regions as well. We’ve recently worked on projects in St. Louis, the Research Triangle in North Carolina, and even an Air Force base in Massachusetts. We send superintendents and crews up for the week and they come home for the weekends, which continues until the project is complete.

The team we have been building over the past several years to accommodate this expansion also leaves us well-poised to expand our client base.

Just this year we’ve added some outstanding, highly experienced roofing professionals and office personnel. I’m looking forward to the ways our own company will evolve as we grow Sentry Roof together. It’s especially rewarding for me personally to now have on our team more of the very best roofing experts in the southeast — people I’ve been competing against for years! It’s good to be working with them.

During the next year we will be introducing you to Sentry’s team here on our blog — both our new team members and team members who have been with us for decades — so you can get to know them a little.

No matter how long someone has been with Sentry, everyone at our company is committed to staying consistent with the mission my father and uncle established in 1982. It’s a big part of the reason our new team members have joined us and why our established team stays. When we work with a client we believe it’s better to operate as a partner rather than a vendor, to plan and manage roofs strategically based on the client’s plans for the property, and to offer our very best advice for avoiding risks and managing costs.

As we celebrate 35 years in business this year, I invite you to take a moment to see some of our projects, take a look at how we address safety, and sign up for our monthly newsletter for insights and advice on roof asset management.
